Curious Kayaking Pictures 1
A collection of curious, unusual, and interesting pictures from kayak paddling trips on rivers, lakes, and bayous in the TX LA OK AR area. Set 1.
Above: Wolf Creek, Steinhagen Reservoir. Tree blocking the creek; too low to go under.
Above: On the Kiamichi River near the Hugo WMA. These pigs had launched into the water to cross the river but did a terrified reversal back to shore.
Above: Boat washing. My experience with the business model. The rule: Takes 8 tokens (= 2 dollars) to wash. Now: Put in 1 dollar to receive 4 tokens. That token dispenser isn’t working. You have 0 tokens. Put 1 dollar into the second token dispenser to get 4 tokens. Put in another dollar to get 4 more tokens. Put 2 tokens into the slot machine in your stall. Huh? The slot machine is not recording the input of tokens. Now have 6 tokens. Move car to different stall. Put in another dollar in the dispenser to get 4 more tokens, now have 10 tokens. Input 8 tokens. The trigger mechanism is broken, no water comes out. Have 2 tokens. Move car to different stall (wait for someone whose is working). Pay 2 more dollars to get 8 more tokens, now have 10 tokens. Input 8 tokens. Wash boat. Give 2 remaining tokens away to someone. Takes 6 dollars = 24 tokens.
Above: Upper Ouachita NWR, alligator gar playing in high water.

Above: These can be found here and there in remote areas, part of the Louisiana Purchase Cypress Legacy Project, they have a website.
