Atoka Lake, North Boggy, Oklahoma B

Another kayak trip at the Atoka Reservoir off of Highway 43 north of Stringtown, OK. This route goes up the North Boggy Creek side as far as possible until the creek narrows and dragging the boat becomes a hassle. Nothing particular to mention but the creek has such a nice feel to it. As I was loading the boat at the launch to return home the game warden drove up aggressively and blocked my exit with his vehicle. He got out to investigate and concluded that I was only “recreating”. There were a few interesting side channels to explore on this trip; the turnarounds for those are shown as yellow dots in the map.

Above: The picture gives the general feel of the river near where it enters the reservoir. The water level is pretty high.

Above: The creek narrows quite a bit farther north; this would be at or near the turnaround point shown on the map.
