Beards Lake, Millwood Lake, Arkansas
Kayak trail paddle map from Corp of Engineers Beard’s Lake Launch just below Millwood Lake in southwest Arkansas. The launch requires either 5 bucks or some version of the America the Beautiful pass. A COE campsite is located opposite the launch and Millwood State Park is just across the dam. There is a big yellow alligator warning sign at the launch. Beard’s Lake is really a corridor, paddle down and paddle back, all stillwater. Because of that I almost didn’t try this lake, but it was a better than expected…saw an enormous snapping turtle and lots of alligators.
