Black Bayou, Noah Tyson Park, Louisiana Kayak Paddle Trip

Black Bayou in northwest Louisiana is only about half an hour away from the Caddo 805 WMA launch in Texas. The best put-in to paddle the bayou is at Noah Tyson Park on Mira Myrtis Road. From there you can paddle up to the Highway 1 bridge, or down to the Black Bayou Lake. The main channel is an easy paddle and very pretty. If the water is high and not overgrown with salvinia there are a lot of lakes and submerged forests that can be explored to each side. The bayou is not used as much by paddlers compared to the Caddo area, but is just as nice, as the pictures show.
