Black Bayou, Noah Tyson Park, Louisiana Kayak Paddle Trip
This paddle trail map is in Black Bayou that flows into Black Bayou Lake. The area is in northwest Louisiana and only about half an hour away from the Caddo 805 WMA launch. The best put-in here is at Noah Tyson Park on Mira Myrtis Road. From there the route choices are upstream to the Highway 1 bridge, done on this trip, or downstream to Black Bayou Lake, done on another trip. The main channel is an easy paddle and very pretty. If the water is high and not overgrown with salvinia there are many areas that can be explored to each side off the main channel. This area is not used as much by paddlers compared to Caddo but is just as nice. Has alligators and snakes.
