Bodcau Bayou B, Highway 2, Louisiana, Kayak Paddle Trip
This kayak trail route map launches into Bodcau Bayou off of Highway 2 just northwest of Sarepta. It’s an out and back that turns around near the Paper Mill Pond area. The turnaround point was the chicken out point for the day, here the bayou started to spread out and it became difficult to figure which path to take, everything the same in all directions. This route is fairly twisty, as in ‘…why am we going east, shouldn’t we be going west/north/south, wait a minute…’ And so you have to remember landmarks around the tricky spots, then spots with choices, because the return leg will be a puzzle too. An good paddle, deep in the woods, with some giant cypress. In addition to being impressive, these trees also help as positional landmarks. One of the better Bodcau paddles.
