Bodcau Bayou F, Hwy 157 to Bodcau Lake

The Bodcau Bayou paddle trip shown here, and the one that launched north from Highway 2, are among my favorites here at Bodcau. This route launches from the Highway 157 put-in and goes south to Bodcau Lake. The section down to the lake had a few spots where the turns were a bit tricky or uncertain, but was for the most part fairly clear. How easy this is will depend on the water level, if it’s high the bayou may overflow the banks and you will be in open forest. The downstream lake is beautiful, open, isolated, nobody there. Very nice.
