Bodcau Bayou F, Hwy 157 to Bodcau Lake
The Bodcau Bayou kayak paddle trip shown in the map above, and the one that launched north from Highway 2, are the two best ones. The route above launches at the Highway 157 put-in and goes south to Bodcau Lake. The first stretch is just an open lake but you soon enter the woods. There were a few spots where the turns were a bit tricky or uncertain but for the most part it was fairly clear. How easy this is will depend on the water level, if it’s high the bayou may overflow the banks and paddling in open forest can be very disorienting. The downstream lake, labeled Bodcau Lake on Google Maps, is beautiful and isolated, nobody there.
