Caddo E 805 WMA Launch

A Caddo kayak paddle route starting at the 805 WMA launch. This one just explores here and there, seeing how far we can go along the perimeter. The east side of Horse Island leading into Back Lake is complicated and required a portage. The route also explores Patterson Slough to the northwest, which splits off from Carter’s Chute. There is a little channel the gets you into the slough and it’s an interesting place, you can go quite a ways north as the route shows. This was a fun exploratory paddle, kind of improvised on the spot, sloggy and muddy, but overall a good tour.
