Caddo National Grassland, Coffee Mill Lake, Lake Crockett

Coffee Mill Lake and Lake Crockett are two adjacent lakes in the Caddo National Grasslands between Bonham and Paris. They are just north of the new Bois d’Arc Reservoir. Both have public boat launches off of Highway 409 and their attraction is that they are small, isolated, and less used than some of the bigger lakes in the area. Both are quite pretty and the paddling routes for them above are basically just loops along the shore. Caddo Grasslands also has some nice camping areas.

Above: Launch site, I think for Coffee Mill Lake.

Above: Bigger than one might suppose.

Above: Some areas are very heavy with the lily pads.
