Denton 380 Greenbelt, Elm Fork Trinity, Clear Creek

Years ago the 380 Denton Greenbelt was open for paddling the Elm Fork of the Trinity, but with flooding and logjams it now seems more or less permanently closed. Maybe they fixed it, I haven’t been there in years. This paddle route map, from quite a while back when the parking lot was open, launched about 100 yards north because of the logjam, and went upstream from there. At the junction between the Elm Fork and Clear Creek where the map says ‘blocked’ there is another big log jam and so the route splits to go up Clear Creek to the point where it became too shallow to navigate. On the way back I came across a guy in a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department uniform who was fishing the Elm Fork. Playing hooky perhaps πŸ™‚
