Hugo WMA, Kiamichi River, Frazier Creek, Rock Creek OK D
A kayak route in the Hugo WMA area of Oklahoma. This one starts at the Frazier Creek Recreation Area off of Highway 93. The ramp at the launch site is long and steep (see picture). For this trip I stayed in a tent at the COE Rattan Landing campsite. The route first goes north along the Kiamichi, then splits to go up into Rock Creek. After returning it goes up Frazier Creek and back. The turnaround points are when the creeks start to get narrow, shallow, and rocky. Beautiful day for sure. Idyllic.
