Lake Charlotte, Mac Lake, Cedar Hill Park Kayak Paddle
The Trinity River bottom north of the Galveston and Trinity Bays is a great place for kayak trips, it’s swampy and there are lots of channels, sloughs, and lakes to explore. Cedar Hill Park near Lake Charlotte has primitive campsites and is a good put-in spot. This route launches from the park and goes north to explore Mac Lake and several side channels that feed in. Turnaround points are google map pins shown as yellow dots. Alligators are everywhere. And from this launch you can also reach the main channel of the Trinity River, so there are sometimes motorboats.
