Lake Charlotte, Lake Miller, Mud Lake, Trinity, Cedar Hill Park
Kayak paddle trail map that launches out of Cedar Hill Park east of Houston onto Lake Charlotte. An earlier trip from this spot went north to Mac Lake; this one goes south down Lake Pass to the I-10 bridge, back through an alternative channel to Lake Miller, then into Mud Lake. The morning was completely fogged in, a couple hundred feet off shore there was nothing but white in any direction, very weird, you expect pirates to appear. The turnaround point was the I-10 bridge. Getting into Lake Miller on the way back was hard, a lot of vegetation and a bad route choice. And finding Mud Lake Bayou, which leads way into Mud Lake, was a bit tricky, several back and forths were needed to get it figured, its real twisty.
