Spring Bayou WMA B

A kayak paddle route at the Spring Bayou WMA near Alexandria, Louisiana. Because it was so hot the prior day I started this trip early in the morning. The route loops a long thin island and checks to see if the passage to The Point Boat Ramp was navigable. It was just barely doable for a kayak but probably not for a larger boat, given the water levels were so low. The names of the various islands and channels and lakes in Spring Bayou are all French, and as I’m not so familiar I have left those designations mostly off the map. In the morning there were quite a few alligators were in the water. Nice paddle.
