Steinhagen, Martin Dies State Park, Rush Creek
Steinhagen kayak paddle trip map doing an up and back into Rush Creek, then out to the lake, up to Martin Dies SP, and around and down. Rush Creek itself is pretty wide up to the Highway 92, easy to paddle, and there are quite a few gators. The central part of the lake has some small cypress tree islands that can be explored and is a nice area. The rest of the trip winds its way up to the park and back around. Before returning to the launch the route loops around a small island and actually goes underneath Highway 190. This channel can be filled with salvinia and paddling here can be slow.
