Corney Bayou, Hog Pen Landing to 550
Paddle route map just northwest of Lake D’Arbonne, starting at Hog Pen Landing and going west and north along Corney Bayou. The launch is down a few local roads but only 10 minutes from Lake D’Arbonne State Park. Each night at the park a group of raccoons invaded the camp, climbed the pole to the hanging trash bag, tore it open, and squabbled over the pickings. Another Corney Bayou paddle starts at the upstream Highway 550 crossing, but this one starts at Hog Pen and goes up to 550. Up near 550 you got to figure things out a bit, kind of meanders. The launch has a self pay kiosk, $5. An easy flatwater paddle, scenic and wide.
