Little River, AR, River Run Launch, below Millwood Dam
Kayak trail route map on the Little River in Arkansas, near Ashdown and north of Texarkana. The trip launches from the COE River Run Park below the dam and goes downstream for an out and back of about 22 miles total. The river was low, the end of the boat ramp was above the water line and not usable by trailered motorboats. Release from the dam was about 700 cfs. This stretch of the Little River is alligator alley. Probably saw 40 or more of various sizes, typically 4-6 feet but some bigger ones too. The river is wide and the turns are slow and so they generally know you are coming well in advance, making it hard to get a picture. But got a few shots with the iphone.
