Kayak paddle trail route map in the Mercer Bayou area of the Sulphur River WMA in Arkansas, just south of Texarkana. This trip paddles along the bayou to the point of a turnaround for one of the prior Mercer Bayou trips thus, over several trips, completing the entire channel. Beautiful day as the pictures show, lily pads, lotus, and great sky. Saw several guys out in their mudboats on this trip, either fishing or cruising the bayou, probably because the weather was a bit cooler. And four or five alligators in the water, but nothing big-big. And a hawk trying to catch an egret, is that even likely? As you paddle by the fish kind of pop up at the surface all over the place, in front of you and to the sides, amazing.
