Texas Southeast, Steinhagen Area, Martin Dies SP, Angelina/Neches
List of Kayak Paddle Trips
Above: Overview trails map of kayak paddle put-ins at Steinhagen Reservoir, Martin Dies State Park, midway between Woodville and Jasper Texas. This area is where the Neches and Angelina Rivers meet, and is part of the Angelina-Neches Dam B WMA. One of the better paddling areas in Texas. The main launch is the Martin Dies boat ramp (green with red dot) but there are several other park ramps (green with yellow dots). There is also an upstream put-in at Bevilport along the Angelina River. There are lots of swampy area and interconnected water channels to explore here, and lots of gators. Individual trip descriptions, pictures, and maps are described below. Click to expand map.
